Hybrid work expectations are subject to business needs and company policy.Job PurposeThe Lead Data Engineer is a collaborative, hands-on role within the Digital Platform Data Engineering team. This individual is responsible for designing scalable, reliable, and high-performing data solutions for a large-volume enterprise environment and leading the engineering teams responsible for implementation.This role will support a major IT initiative focused on enabling National Grid business partners, improving how employees serve customers today, and building a data platform that supports future growth.Key AccountabilitiesPerform and collaborate on system designs, data solution development including data migration and extracts from multiple legacy systemsProvide day-to-day supervision and leadership of engineering team(s) responsible for implementation.Updates to data mappings and data catalogsParticipate in, and/or lead, design and pre-deployment reviews.Data profilingDesign and development of data synchronization processesParticipate in the design/development of SaaS solutions, including data modelingAssist in determining the cross-application data standards, data distribution standards and promote data-driven designCreate database deliverables ensuring quality and traceability to requirements and adherence to all quality management plans and governance standardsWork with the team to ensure that all components work together to meet objectives and performance goals as defined in the requirements.
