Job Summary

• Measures and cuts cable. Loads and unloads cable reels, wire, transformers and associated material. Operates various types of equipment such as lift truck, front-end loader and pendant crane. THIS JOB WILL COMPLY WITH DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORATION (DOT) DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING

Key Accountabilities

• Measures and cuts cable for Trombly SC. Operates Tulsa, Watson Winder and other related types of equipment.
• Seals lead covered cable with solder seals.
• Operates lift trucks up to 32 ton capacity.
• Unload, handle, store, and process PCB Materials.
• Responsible for loading low boys and securing flat trailers with reels of cable.
• Responsible for loading and cable hauling equipment such as Altec truck, Altec trailer, Hogg Davis haulers and OK Champion dual reel truck and other related equipment.
• Operates 20 ton pendant crane.
• Operates lift trucks to unload full vendor cable reels from shipper's trailers. Loads empty vendor reels onto trailers for return to vendor.
• Weighs reels of scrap cable for salvage.
• Drives company vehicles in delivery of material company wide.
• Fuels trucks and equipment.
• Receives underground material, luminaries, lamps and wire for stock and jobs from Warren S.C. and vendors.
• Fills and issues material for jobs including cable-splicing material, luminaries, lamps and wire.
• Operates tool crib. Orders tools and equipment.
• Unload, handle, store, and process PCB Materials.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED. 
• Must have 2 years forklift operating experience.
• Demonstrate competency in the performance of all required duties within six months from transfer date. 
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 
• Satisfactory physical examination.
• Must meet Company driving standards.  Must possess or obtain 6 months after transfer date, a Michigan Group A Commercial Driver's License with air brake or a Classified Endorsement Temporary Instruction Permit.  Canadian citizens must obtain a Ontario Class A license with a Z endorsement for air brakes within 6 months of transfer.  Ohio residents must obtain a CDL Group A with air brake restriction removed within 6 months of transfer.
