Security Consultant II

This role is part of a global Security Professional Services team supporting customers throughout the security solution lifecycle. You will serve as a trusted technical partner, helping customers integrate security solutions and develop strategies aligned with security best practices. The position combines hands-on technical problem solving with customer consulting, project delivery, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work across networking, application security, internet technologies, and web architecture to address complex customer requirements. The role offers opportunities to influence technical decisions, improve service quality, and contribute to internal best practices. You'll collaborate with Support, Engineering, Product, Presales, and Sales teams to resolve technical and business challenges. Success requires strong technical judgment, customer engagement skills, and the ability to manage complex projects from planning through successful delivery.

Accountabilities

• Serve as a primary security services contact for customers, supporting successful integration and consulting throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Understand customer requirements and help develop long-term security strategies based on established best practices.
• Design, implement, and support security solutions while helping customers achieve their desired technical and business outcomes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient integrations, high-quality service delivery, and strong customer engagement.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems while clearly communicating solutions and recommendations to both technical and business audiences.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies for technical customer integrations.
• Collaborate with Support, Engineering, Product, Presales, Sales, and other teams to resolve technical and business issues.
• Contribute to training, internal projects, knowledge sharing, and best-practice development to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Apply sound judgment, contingency planning, and structured decision-making to support successful project and customer outcomes.

Requirements

• Approximately 6 years of experience working with security technologies, combined with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional experience in network security or application security engineering, with a strong interest in developing deeper security expertise.
• Hands-on knowledge of Internet routing protocols such as BGP, ISIS, OSPF, and MPLS.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco and Juniper routers.
• Understanding of common OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and how they can relate to attacks or compromises involving Internet services.
• Strong knowledge of Internet technologies, including IP networking, DNS, routing, TCP, and web architecture.
• Demonstrated experience managing and successfully delivering large or technically complex customer projects.
• Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and build trusted relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on sound judgment, risk management, and contingency planning.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional and customer-facing environment.
